Star Wars Friday

Okay how AWESOME is this? Today is Wear Star Wars Share Star Wars Day!! I posted last week about this day so I just wanted to share with you my experiance as a Geek Girl.

Wearing my Star Wars T-Shirt At Work

I was often bullied in school for being that “girl who likes Star Trek“. I was critized for my clothing, lack of makeup, and the fact that I was only 4″10. Wearing a Star Wars shirt with Yoda plastered on it made me an easy target for bullies and to top it all off I was the only person who was a geek at my school.

Many years later (many, many, many years) I still continue to wear my Star Wars shirts and watch Star Trek. It no longer bothers me if people find me weird. I have meet several people who share my interests and have encouraged me to not be afraid to be different.

Bullying is a serious issue in schools no matter how small the school may be. Both parents and teachers need to be involved in helping children learn that it’s okay to be different. With that being said I am going to show some Star Wars pride and boldly wear my Star Wars t-shirt!

Don’t forget to donate a toy to your local charity today if you live in Lamar Wal-mart has a box where you can donate toys or food.
