Starfest 2012 Guest Announcement!!

Yesterday Starland, the group that runs Starfest, announced the first anticipated guest for the 2012 lineup! On the Starfest Convention facebook page ( they played a little trivia game throughout the day with clues to guess the first guest.

The first hint was that this guest has a cow-shaped mailbox. Clue number two reveals that on  Futurama there is an island named after a character that they played. Last hint was that his trademarad beard was acquired during the filming of “North and South Book II.”

The guest that will be attending Starfest 2012 is Jonathan Frakes! Best known for playing Commander William T Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation. He was supposed to be a guest for Starfest 2011, but unfortunately had to back out at the last minute due to a filming conflict. I am excited that he has decided to return, he will be a great guest!

The first question that comes to mind that I want to ask him is how he liked working for Marvel Comics. He used to appear at conventions dressed as Captain America. A second question would be about the beard, he had it for filming of “North and South Book II” but apparently liked the style so much that he kept it when he went back to start filming Star Trek: The Next Generation season 2.

Can’t wait to see who else is announced from Starland! Looks like we are off to a good start through!
