Star Wars Friday

Here is some awesome news for Star Wars fans planning on attending the Denver Comic Con this year. (Just a side note I’ll be there and I am so excited!) Tom Kane will be making an appearance. http://www.denvercomiccon.com/2012/tom-kane/ For those of you who are not familiar with “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” Tom Kane is the voice of a well-loved character Yoda, and has also lent his voice for “Star Wars: The Old Republic” video game.

This is a good opportunity for me to praise “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.” I know many of you Star Wars fans have not been keeping up with this amazing show. To be honest, I too was hesitant about watching the animated show, and felt that I would always prefer the movies to a cartoon. However, I have come to realize that this show goes hand in hand with the movies. In fact, it has allowed me to appreciate the movies even more.

Take for instance Anakin in the prequels –  I really did not understand him, but the Clone Wars has shown Anakin as a Jedi Knight, a Master, and has shown the events in his life that have shaped his motives in the movies. I can now better understand why he turns to the dark side and abandons his friends.

As you watch the series, you will see how shaky the foundation of the Jedi Council is and how they are struggling through the war. I believe that many of our questions will be answered as this series continues. To me it has shown the bad decisions the Jedi Council has made and how the dark side is corrupting them.

Some amazing characters have come out of this including Ashoka Tano and Captian Rex.  Both are being developed really well in the series and have become popular characters. This show is chalk full of amazing bounty hunters, sith, and even other races. “The Clone Wars” allow us to explore the Star Wars Universe even more.

Okay, I’ve said my shpeal. I love “The Clone Wars” and if you haven’t seen it, give it a try!
